Wonderwall was a one hit wonder

German one-hit wonder bands with English lyrics

07.04.2013 - 13:57

What are you doing there!
Me like this:

Bell, Book & Candle - Rescue Me
Bananafishbones - Come To Sin
Liquido - Narcotic
Wonderwall - Just More

07.04.2013 - 13:59

I can't think of anything.

07.04.2013 - 14:05

Scycs - radio star? I don't even know it now.

07.04.2013 - 14:09

Ah OK thanks.

07.04.2013 - 14:11

Fools Garden - Lemon Tree
Orange Blue - She's Got That Light
Sin With Sebastian - Shut Up
Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5

One scary number after the other;)

07.04.2013 - 14:12

Scycs? One hit? Nope, "Next November" was one of those too.

This unspeakable "lemon tree" from Fools Garden comes to mind at OHW.

07.04.2013 - 14:15

Camouflage - Love Is A Shield

07.04.2013 - 14:15

2:11 p.m. = very strange fake

07.04.2013 - 14:20

Quite strange subgenre. All such disgusting power catches.
But I would be interested in what the two blondes from Wonderwall are doing. Especially the slightly thinner of the two I found incredibly pretty at the time.

07.04.2013 - 14:24

Krass, didn't even know that Love Is A Shield was from a German band.
Otherwise I remember:
Fury in the Slaughterhouse - Won't forget these days

07.04.2013 - 14:26

Radiohead - wonderwall

07.04.2013 - 14:27

Just know yourself Won't forget these days.

07.04.2013 - 14:28

BOY - Little Numbers

07.04.2013 - 14:38

German one-hit wonder bands with Portuguese lyrics:
Samba de Janeiro

07.04.2013 - 17:41

Camouflage had the almost even bigger "The great Commandment".
Fury i.t. Slaughterhouse had similar hits (Radio Orchid, This is not the Time to Wonder, to name just two) and released various albums, all of which sold well, I wouldn't be surprised if they still had fans these days (not me, don't worry).

Moti Special: Cold Days Hot Nights
Rainbirds: Blueprint (I know there was somehow another one, but far from Blueprint)
Jeremy Days: Brand new toy

The 80s are good for that.

07.04.2013 - 17:44

Taco: Puttin on the Ritz

07.04.2013 - 17:46

@ rollator
Wasn't taco Dutch?

07.04.2013 - 17:49

Camouflage - Love Is A Shield

Strictly speaking, a two-hit wonder because "The Great Commandment" was also a success.

07.04.2013 - 17:55

@Frank
Maybe he lived here in any case. I'll have a look.

07.04.2013 - 18:08

yup, taco was dutch.

07.04.2013 - 18:24

@ rollator
No problem. Studied in Germany for that.

07.04.2013 - 18:33

Two Of Us - Blue Night Shadow

07.04.2013 - 18:40

scycs - grounded & next november

07.04.2013 - 18:40

Camouflage - Love Is A Shield

Strictly speaking, a two-hit wonder because "The Great Commandment" was also a success.

Well, Love Is A Shield was the only top ten hit they had.

If The Great Commandment counts as a hit, so does "Strangers' Thoughts" (both in the top 20).

07.04.2013 - 18:43

Alphaville ..

08.04.2013 - 12:02

4lyn- whoohaah or whatever the name of this song was that they were in the charts when nu metal was the big thing, back then at the end of the 90s

08.04.2013 - 12:14

I have dangerous half-knowledge. So please don't take my postings too seriously, ok? ;-)

08.04.2013 - 12:15

Vivid - Still

08.04.2013 - 12:35

Wow, interesting.

08.04.2013 - 12:44

Alphaville ..

Are you serious?

They had 3 world hits (!): Big In Japan, Sounds Like A Melody and Forever Young.

In addition, other hits: The Jet Set (number 11), Dance With Me (number 11), I Die For You Today (number 15).

Even if they were never able to build on their initial successes again, Alphaville were by no means a one-hit wonder.

08.04.2013 - 12:46

Which idiot called Alphaville ?! Reach in the toilet.

08.04.2013 - 13:04

@my Fake (April 8th, 12:15 pm): Do we know each other, you Spaten?

08.04.2013 - 13:16

"They had 3 world hits (!): Big In Japan, Sounds Like A Melody and Forever Young.

In addition, other hits: The Jet Set (number 11), Dance With Me (number 11), I Die For You Today (number 15). "

True with Alphaville, of course, had underestimated that and interpreted "One-Hit-Wonder" rather broadly in the sense of a short high phase.

08.04.2013 - 15:14

Frameless with "I Try" comes to mind, it was a nice little song ...

08.04.2013 - 16:08

"Lovers" by STREETMARK (must have been around 1980). Was at every class party back then ...

08.04.2013 - 17:45

Most of the Eurodance bands of the 90s, e.g.

Culture Beat
Magic Affair
