Important regulations for setting up a gas tank in the garden

Before and during the installation as well as during the use of the gas tank, certain regulations and rules must be obeyed in order to ensure smooth use. We have listed the most important regulations for you below.

Liquid gas tanks with a nominal filling weight of up to 2.9 t do not require a building permit. The list is carried out nationwide according to TRF 2012.

There are a few things to consider when setting up your liquid gas tank in the garden. In principle, you can set up your gas tank wherever there are no passages, stairwells, escape and rescue routes (emergency exits), stairs of outdoor facilities or passageways. In addition, sufficient distance from buildings (0.5 - 1.0 meters) must be maintained for maintenance, filling and cleaning.

There are basic installation regulations - the TRF (Technical Rules for Liquid Gas). The TRF 2012 is the most up-to-date set of rules drawn up by the German Association for Liquid Gas and other company and authority representatives. These provisions regulate all matters (planning, construction, maintenance, modification and testing) for the operation from the gas phase of stationary liquid gas storage containers on properties or portable pressurized gas containers as well as for consumption systems in buildings.
