What is the price of Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon: Small India SUV starts from 10,700 euros

Different markets, different cars: In the Indian market, from our European perspective, you can find unusual cars from well-known manufacturers. For example the VW Ameo as a slimmed-down Polo with a notchback or the recently introduced Skoda Kushaq. Today we would like to introduce you to an SUV that looks very attractive in some ways: the Tata Nexon.

In principle, the Nexon combines several of the qualities that are currently successful. Its body follows the stylistic criteria of the SUV phenomenon, but in a condensed format that, given its dimensions, could be described as urban. The car is 3.99 meters long, 1.81 meters wide and 1.60 meters high. The wheelbase is 2.50 meters.

Different countries, different cars:

What really surprises us, given the dimensions, is the 350 liters trunk volume, which considerably increases its practicality. There is also space for four to five occupants.

Let's get to the drives: In its country of origin, the Tata Nexon is offered with a turbo gasoline engine with three cylinders and 1.2 liters displacement, with a maximum output of 120 hp at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,000 revolutions .

The diesel alternative is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder block, also with turbocharging, which produces 110 hp and 260 Nm between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm. A manual and an automatic transmission, each with six gears, are available as transmissions.

The Nexon is also available as a purely electric version. It has a permanent magnet synchronous motor with an output of 130 hp and 245 Nm torque, which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.9 seconds. The whole thing is fed by a battery with a capacity of 30.2 kWh. The charging times range from 60 minutes to 8.5 hours, depending on the charging station.

For the suspensions, the Nexon uses a McPherson scheme on the front axle and a rigid axle with semi-suspension on the rear axle. The brakes are disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The steel wheels measure 16 inches in all cases.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 44 liters, so that the range is more than guaranteed in both cases. Of course, the turbodiesel version will cover significantly more kilometers given its low power.

Another aspect that leads us to believe that this car could be successful in the western markets is the presence of elements appreciated by the driver, such as a kind of dynamic driving control, in this case with three modes: Eco, City and Sport .

In the interior, the Nexon relies on a striking design, but with rather simple materials. But that doesn't stop Tata from giving the SUV digital instrumentation and a multifunction steering wheel as well as a 7.0-inch digital screen for the infotainment system, rain and light sensors, cruise control or a panoramic sliding roof.

As you can see, in addition to being one of the most advanced models in its country of origin, the Tata Nexon could find a niche in our market as well.

At a price at the current exchange rate (excluding import costs) from 10,700 euros, we are convinced that many of you would at least be tempted to go to the dealer to get to know him personally. Undoubtedly, it would be a serious competitor for models like the Dacia Duster that play the role of an affordable and very practical SUV.
